Licence renewal with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals opens soon, and you will be able to complete it and submit your payment through your online account. The 2026/27 annual renewal deadline is Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
No action is required at this time. You will be notified by email when online renewal opens.
Specific requirements as well as next steps for oral health professionals who do not wish to renew will be provided in upcoming communications.
All oral health professionals intending to renew their licence must:
- Meet the quality assurance requirements if your cycle ended on or before December 31, 2025
- Have a valid criminal record check (CRC)
- If you are due for an updated CRC, BCCOHP will apply to the Ministry on your behalf. No action is required on your end unless you were contacted by the Ministry or BCCOHP staff
- Have valid professional liability insurance (applicable to dental hygienists, dental technicians, dental therapists, dentists, and denturists)
- Please note that you are not required to upload proof of insurance unless you are changing your status to practising
- Have no outstanding fines, fees, debts, or levies owed to BCCOHP
- Complete the renewal process and pay required fees on or before Tuesday, March 31, 2026
Renewal changes in 2026/27
The options you see on the renewal form might look different this year. With the upcoming transition to the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), BCCOHP is replacing or discontinuing certain classes to align with the requirements of the new legislation. Emails containing tailored information were sent directly to the oral health professionals who will be affected by these changes.
Also under the HPOA, BC health regulators will move from a registration model to a licensure model.

Annual Fees 2026/27
The BCCOHP board recently approved a 5% increase in fees for the 2026/27 year.

This is your renewal notice per BCCOHP Bylaw 9.12 (3). As an oral health professional regulated by BCCOHP, you are required to renew with BCCOHP and pay the fee no later than March 31, 2026. Those who do not renew and pay the fee by the deadline are not permitted to practise as of April 1, 2026.
