Oral Health Professionals Research Study

BCCOHP launched its first engagement study of oral health professionals in early 2023. The engagement study asked oral health professionals about their experiences and perceptions of BCCOHP, as well as renewal, quality assurance and practice guidelines. The study had two phases:

Phase one: An online panel of oral health professionals explored topic areas which informed a survey conducted in phase two.

Phase two: All oral health professionals were invited to provide input through an online survey. Participants were asked to respond to questions and statements about: 

• quality assurance
• registration/certification and renewal
• health equity and cultural safety
• team-based care
• communication preferences

Results will help frame and inform a number of BCCOHP’s planned initiatives and regulatory functions in a structured and sustainable way.
