Legacy College Practice Resources

Modernizing core regulatory functions and establishing patient-centred standards for all oral health professionals is a strategic focus for BCCOHP.

Since coming into effect, BCCOHP’s unified Standards for the Oral Health Team have replaced a number of legacy college practice resources.

When BCCOHP was established in 2022 through the amalgamation of legacy oral health colleges, existing practice resources were ported over with the understanding that eventually, all legacy practice resources may be rescinded and replaced by new BCCOHP professional and practice standards that apply to all regulated oral health professionals.

While many legacy resources have been rescinded (as outlined in the tables below), several legacy practice standards remain in place to address adjunctive aspects of care that may be high risk to patients. These are clearly marked as such, and oral health professionals should visit the “practice resources” page of the website to confirm the full suite of up-to-date expectations.
