As part of the transition from the Health Professions Act (HPA) to the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA), effective April 1, 2026, BCCOHP’s committee structure is changing. BCCOHP is moving from 10 committees to five, with updated mandates and responsibilities.
We currently have openings on all five of our committees and welcome applications from those who want to contribute their time and expertise. This leadership opportunity is open to oral health professionals and members of the public.
New committee terms will begin on April 1, 2026, when the HPOA comes into force.
How do I apply? How long does it take?
You’ll need about 30-45 minutes to respond to the questions in the online application form.

A completed application form and resumé must be submitted to committees@oralhealthbc.ca.
Candidates who are being considered for a committee membership appointment will be asked to complete a Declaration of Interests form before their appointment is confirmed.
What is the process for selection?
The Board seeks to fill the available positions on each committee based on the applicant’s skills, knowledge, experience and area of interest. The Board will appoint committee members in March.
New committee terms will begin on April 1, 2026.
