BCCOHP’s efforts to establish a single, modernized Quality Assurance Program (QAP) have achieved an important milestone with the Board’s approval of the program design. This approval confirms the transition from the pre-existing programs to the modernized program. Development of the program components is already in progress as we prepare for implementation in April 2026.
As we begin to move from design to implementation, we’ll be sharing information in stages, starting with the immediate changes you need to be aware of. As a first step, this message outlines the approach to winding down the pre-existing Quality Assurance (QA) programs ahead of the launch.
Pre-existing Quality Assurance Programs wind down
To support the transition, all pre-existing program requirements and assessments will be retired December 31, 2025, meaning that:
- Effective January 1, 2026, no further reporting of pre-existing QA activities or assessments will be required.
- Assignment of new QA cycles will be deferred until the launch of the modernized program.
- Those with QA cycles ending December 31, 2025, are the final cohorts required to complete the pre-existing program requirements.
Tailored information to support you in understanding the impact of this transition between programs is available on the BCCOHP website:
We look forward to sharing more details about the modernized program design with you in the new year.
