Chris Hacker
Registrar and CEO

Chris Hacker is the Registrar and CEO of the BC College of Oral Health Professionals — the regulatory college that oversees BC’s certified dental assistants, dental therapists, dental hygienists, dental technicians, denturists and dentists.

Chris has direct experience providing healthcare that improves the quality of his patients’ lives, thanks to 35 years as a practising dentist. His open communications style and his treatment of his patients as partners in their oral health care helped him to build trusting and long-lasting relationships – skills that serve him well in regulatory leadership.

Chris serves on the executive of the BC Health Regulators, which brings together all of BC’s health regulatory colleges. At the national level, he is a member of the Canadian Dental Regulatory Authorities Federation, and serves as an examiner for the National Dental Examining Board, which establishes the standard for competence for dentists in Canada.
