As part of our ongoing work to unify regulatory functions, we are consolidating oral health professional information to improve our public register experience for the public, and the online portal for oral health professionals. Both of these updates launch on November 12.
Public register changes
On November 12, a new public register will streamline the search process, eliminating the use of separate registers for each type of oral health professional. Users will now search a single register for certified dental assistants, dental technicians, dental therapists, dentists and denturists. Please note that the dental hygienist public register will continue to operate separately for now.
New online portal
A new online portal for certified dental assistants, dental technicians, dental therapists, dentists and denturists launches November 12. Oral health professionals who are impacted by this transition have received detailed emails to assist them through the transition. Dental hygienists will see changes to their online portal and public register during the next phase of the project.
These upcoming changes will allow oral health professionals to complete more services online. This varies depending on what type of oral health professional, so refer to the dedicated emails for tailored information.
During the updates to our online portal, the denturist and dental technician systems will be temporarily unavailable from 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6 until 12:00 pm (noon) on Tuesday, November 12. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this time. The other login areas will continue to operate uninterrupted.
Oral health professionals may email portalsupport@oralhealthbc.ca with any questions about the transition to the new online portal.
