Dr. Davepal S. Dhillon, a general dentist who practises in Victoria, has admitted that he failed to comply with a Memorandum of Agreement and Understanding that he signed, and that he failed to respond to requests for information and inquiries from the College.

A discipline hearing had been scheduled but was cancelled when Dr. Dhillon admitted to the allegations. Details of the allegations are outlined in the citation (PDF).

Dr. Dhillon made admissions and proposed a resolution under s. 37.1 of the Health Professions Act. The Inquiry Committee considered Dr. Dhillon’s proposal and approved it. The terms of the resolution are as follows:

  • He is reprimanded;
  • He is suspended from practice for a period of 30 days, to be served in two periods from October 2 – October 11 2017 (10 days) and December 12 – December 31 2017 (20 days);
  • A fine in the amount of $5000 to be paid to CDSBC;
  • $1000 to be paid to CDSBC towards the cost of the investigation; and
  • He is ordered to attend, at his own expense, and achieve an unconditional pass in a professional ethics course.
