Oral health professionals will be able to renew your registration/certification with BCCOHP online beginning in early February 2024. You will be notified by email when the online renewal system opens.
The deadline to renew your registration or certification is Sunday, March 31, 2024. Below are the annual renewal fees for all registrants and certified dental assistants.
The detailed fee schedule for each oral health professional type and health profession corporation fees can be found in Schedule A of the BCCOHP Bylaws (PDF).

You must complete the annual renewal process and pay the fee by Sunday, March 31, 2024 or your certification will expire and an additional reinstatement fee of $83 will be required to renew. After 60 days, this fee will increase to $159.
Please note: CDAs with unrenewed certifications are not permitted to perform the services of a CDA.
Certified dental assistants are required to undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC) every five years. At renewal each year, BCCOHP collects one fifth of the CRC fee for dentists, certified dental assistants and dental therapists. We will submit applications on behalf of certified dental assistants.

You must complete the annual renewal process and pay the fee by Sunday, March 31, 2024 or your registration will expire and an additional reinstatement fee will be required to renew. Dentists holding Full and Limited (Restricted-to-Specialty) registration who do not renew by the deadline must pay a $316 reinstatement fee (after 60 days, this fee will increase to $792) and dentists holding Limited (Academic, Education and Volunteer) registration who do not renew by the deadline are required to re-apply for registration.

Please note: Dental therapists with unrenewed registrations are not permitted to practise.
Dental therapists are required to undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC) every five years. At renewal each year, BCCOHP collects one fifth of the CRC fee for dentists, certified dental assistants and dental therapists. We will submit applications on behalf of dental therapists.

You must complete the annual renewal process and pay the fee by Sunday, March 31, 2024 or your registration will expire and an additional reinstatement fee of $100 will be required to renew.
Your 2024/25 registration renewal cannot be processed until we have received confirmation of payment from you for the authorization of a criminal record check by the BC Ministry of Public Safety & Solicitor General. If you do not update your criminal record check, you will not be able to complete your renewal and you will not be able to practise as of April 1.
Please note: Dental technicians with unrenewed registrations are not permitted to perform the services of a dental technician.

Please note: Denturists with unrenewed registrations are not permitted to practise denturism.
You must renew your permit annually to ensure that BCCOHP has up-to-date information about oral health professionals who are practising through a health profession corporation.
