BCCOHP is currently recruiting a consultant subject matter expert to support the development of a modernized quality assurance program that will be applicable to all oral health professionals. The subject matter expert will source and synthesize relevant research literature and provide recommendations on a variety of QA program components and assessment mechanisms commonly used in professional regulation.

Ideal candidates have:

  • completed a doctoral degree (PhD, EdD)
  • expert knowledge of common program components and assessments that are conducted for quality assurance purposes in professional regulation (e.g., quantified mandatory continuing education, self-assessments, peer-assessments, multisource feedback, practice observations, inspections, knowledge assessments)
  • exemplary writing skills and oral presentation skills

This opportunity is open from Tuesday, February 27 through to Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at 5 p.m. (PT)

Background

As part of work to unify regulatory functions following the amalgamation of four legacy oral health colleges, the BC College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP) is developing a modernized Quality Assurance (QA) program that will be applicable to all oral health professionals (OHPs).

QA programs play an important role in helping to ensure the public is well-served by competent professionals. Currently, all oral health professionals must fulfill quantified continuing education requirements as part of their quality assurance programs. At present, there are additional, profession-specific requirements that have been carried over from the four legacy oral health colleges; however, these requirements are not consistent across the different oral health professions now regulated by BCCOHP.
